Combat Search and Rescue
Combat search and rescue (CSAR) are search and rescue operations that are carried out during war that are within or near combat zones.
A CSAR mission may be carried out by a task force of helicopters, ground-attack aircraft, aerial refueling tankers and an airborne command post

Counter Terrorism
Counter-terrorism (also called anti-terrorism) incorporates the practice, military tactics, techniques, and strategy that government, military, law enforcement, business, and intelligence agencies use to combat or prevent terrorism.
If terrorism is part of a broader insurgency, counter-terrorism may employ counter-insurgency measures. The United States Armed Forces use the term foreign internal defense for programs that support other countries in attempts to suppress insurgency, lawlessness, or subversion or to reduce the conditions under which these threats to security may develop

Counter narcotics
2SFG occasionally Co-operates with Local authorities and the DEA with counter-narcotics operations. Counter-narcotic Operations recently occurring on the border of Mexico, in Mexico and Afghanistan.

Close protection detail
Protection roles usually entails protecting a VIP from potential assassinations, terror attacks. VIP Protection is most completed via air with the use of Military Jets and the Luxor for the VIP's comfort. However the use of a motorcade is also possible, which is usually protected with the use of of a Helicopter to overwatch.

Force multiplication
Force multiplication refers to an attribute or a combination of attributes which make a given force more effective than that same force would be without it. The expected size increase required to have the same effectiveness without that advantage is the multiplication factor. For example, if a certain technology like GPS enables a force to accomplish the same results of a force five times as large but without GPS, then the multiplier is five. Such estimates are used to justify an investment cost for force multipliers. A force multiplier refers to a factor that dramatically increases (hence "multiplies") the effectiveness of an item or group.

Man hunts
The US army Special Forces occasionally is known to conduct Man hunt operations on individuals typically wanted for war crimes, Terrorism etc.
2SFG regularly co-operates with Local Authorities to assist in man hunts, these are man hunts also range from Murders to wanted gang members.

​Reconnaissance
Reconnaissance is the exploration outside an area occupied by friendly forces to gain information about natural features and enemy presence. Reconnaissance operations typically involves recording of how many personnel, Morale, weapons and vehicles in the opposition's possession

Hostage rescue
2SFG is often briefed for hostage situations inside and outside of the United States. Hostage Rescue Operations are typically very fast pace and usually require Close Quarter Combat (CQC).
